Honda XR250 Chain
It is important to stay in safety when riding motorcycle. That is why you need to pay extra attention to your motorcycle chain. It's all because the chain is one of the essential parts that make your motorcycle run.

The chain is the one that will transfer all the motorcycle power to the rear wheel, thus making it move. If it is in poor condition, then your motorcycle power will not be efficient. It may also result in dangerous riding condition as well as tearing your machine apart.

These are some helpful tips on how to adjust the tensions of your motorcycle chain.

1. Different motorcycle means different characteristics, including its chain tension. Therefore, you need to read the manual book carefully so that you did not get confused when tuning your motorcycle chain.

2. Once you have done with the first step, loosen the rear wheel bolts and pull the wheel slowly just a few millimeters then tighten the bolt back to check the chain tension. Measure the chain looseness by simply pressing the lower chain with your fingers or a screwdriver. The normal measurement is about 20-33 mm or you can just see it on the sticker on top of the chain wheel. If you tighten the chain too much, it may wear out. However, if the chain is too loose then it will make too much vibration.

3. Just make sure that the front and the rear sprocket remain parallel. If somehow they get imbalance, it'll damage either the chain or even the sprocket.

4. When all things have been done, you have to make sure that there is no movement on the wheel when you tighten the rear wheel bolt. Any slight movement will have a severe impact on the chain tightness.

5. For your own safety, I advise you to check on your motorcycle chain at least once every two weeks, especially if you are using your motorcycle every day.

Every moving part of your motorcycle is important, that includes the chain. Keeping your motorcycle in optimum condition will surely make you drive better and safer.
